Get More Antioxidants from Your Diet Plan

There are several steps that you can take to get more antioxidants into your diet.

a. Breakfast – make sure that at the start of the day, you have eaten the right amount of fruits. Rather than hurriedly eating Pop Tarts, it is much better that you blend some strawberries, yogurt and 100% fruit or vegetable juice in a blender. That way you have eaten 1 to 2 servings of fruits that are good sources of antioxidants. If you love eating cereal in the morning, make sure that you add some fruits to it.

b. Snacks – get more antioxidants during snack time by eating a handful of raisins or some fresh grapes. You can also dip two to three strawberries in your yogurt. If you love munching crunchy foods for snacks, try eating baby carrots or pecans. They will satisfy your need for crunchy foods, plus they are very high in antioxidants.

c. Lunch and Dinner – add vegetable and fruit salad to your main dish. You can use any kind of veggies or fruits. Vegetable salad does not always have to be green and boring. In fact if you are adventurous you can mix vegetable salads with fruits. That way you can get more antioxidants and other nutrients that you need for your overall health.

d. Dessert and beverages – eating berries with cream or chocolate, or drinking tea or coffee bean extract are all excellent antioxidant sources, which is a great way to close your day.

Eating healthily and providing your body with lots of antioxidants to boost your vitality is important and you can do it by thinking out of the box. There are plenty of antioxidant foods that are readily available in the market. One simple example is when you cook mixed veggies, add red beans to it, because many dietitians claim red beans have more antioxidants than blueberries.

However, if you want to ensure that you get your daily dose of antioxidant aside from eating fresh veggies and fruits, you can also find in the market some natural health supplements that are loaded with antioxidants too. Just make sure that the manufacturer has an approval from the Department of food and drugs.

Incorporating antioxidants into your daily diet should never be a problem really; all you need to do is think outside the box. Eating healthy does not need to be boring – a little adventurous imagination in mixing fresh foods for meals and there you have it, a good supply of antioxidants for your health!
